What options do I have when setting up the retail products I offer?

Description
This is simply the name by which you want to refer to this product.

Category
Select the category you would like this product to be displayed in. To enter a new category, simply type its name into the selection box.

Barcode (optional)
This is the UPC or other barcode that you will scan when selling this product. Type or scan the product barcode to update this value.

Regular Price
This is the normal price at which you plan to sell this product. Do not include sales tax.

Preferred Price
This is the price at which you plan to sell this product to customers flagged as 'preferred'. Do not include sales tax.

Cost of Goods
This is what you pay for this item.

Taxable
Check this box if you plan to charge sales tax on this item.

Currently Offered
Check this box if you want this item to be available in the product list when entering a sale. We recommend that you uncheck this box, as opposed to deleting the product, when you discontinue the item.

Generate Commission
Check this box if you plan to pay commission on sales of this item. When checked, the commission type and amount fields will become enabled.

Track Inventory
Check this box if you want Streamline to debit your inventory when you sell this item. When checked, the on-hand field will become enabled so you can enter your current on-hand quantity.
